I want my biopsy results now

I had a biopsy mid May. Results were back just over 2 weeks ago and I was told I’d get a letter....
Still nothing and I’ve called 4 times. I’ve said how anxious I am but they can’t give results by phone which I understand but surely they should have sent me a letter by now I’m going out of my mind

It is nerve wracking waiting though I would guess its fine or they would be putting more effort into getting in touch.

Would they fax / e -mail the letter to your doctors? If they agree call your doctors as I always find about 50% gets lost between the two permanently but maybe I am just unlucky and say a fax / email is coming through.

I had to wait 3 months for one, it was normal but annoying they don't tell you sooner. Another time had same procedure it was 2 days.

I'd be trying to think along the lines of no news being good news. Sure they would have been in contact if they needed to as the results are back.
Very frustrating though.

I just wish if it was normal they could say on phone

Your G.P will likely have received a letter/e.mail regarding the results. They will be on your notes. You could try them?
If it is G.P surgery withholding your results I'd be tempted to make an appointment as the waiting is causing you anxiety to be honest.

No the gp hasn’t got them apparently. The hospital said the results were back a little over 2 weeks ago and that the dr had viewed and would write but I got nothing and I’ve called. I said if it’s normal please key tell me but they can’t as they said not allowed as they aren’t medically trained. I understand that but I feel they should be able to.
They’ve said again today the doctor just hasn’t sent the letter yet I just want to know if it was ok or not

No news is good news, OP.

If there was a problem they'd have been in touch immediately.

I really hope so
I do think a normal/no action result should be allowed to be given over the phone

If it was bad news, they'd tell you in person.

The flip side of results over the phone is that if they tell you to come in instead, you know it's bad news and have extra days of worrying.

Phone the consultants secretary. They are the gatekeepers and will help you out.

If you haven't got their number phone the main hospital switchboard and ask to be put through to them.

I did, she told me she couldn’t tell me anything that the dr had to dictate a letter to me which I’ve chased up and not received 😔 I’ve had this issue for a year and only had the biopsy recently so I’m anxious because i literally don’t know what else it could be
