Am i being unreasonable...or not?

I have a low-level condition which means i need blood tests every couple of months. My GP surgery (which is over the rd) says i now need to go to the local hospital to have these done. So 15 min drive (awkward park!), pay parking, walk through a hospital and take a ticket. Each time this 30sec test has taken at least an hour. The last 2 times it has been an hr wait alone. I have 3 children under 8. Today i got there but the queue so long i had to go away as it wouldn't work with the baby's feed. Is this standard practice? Can i insist i have them done at GP? (They said only in special circs). I'm now late having them done as I can't get there and wait.

My GP's surgery don't do blood tests at all and everyone is sent to the local hospital. There are no appts of course so it can take ages if you go at a busy time so same as you.

I asked the staff and they told me when it's usually quiet (Fri afternoon - definitely never Mon!) so I go then and I'm usually in and out in less than 5 mins max. Try asking when their quieter times are so you can at least avoid a 2 hour wait in future.

Unfortunately you can't insist it's done at your GP surgery if they no longer offer the service - which may have been directed by the local CCG / Health Board

In our area there are a couple of mobile phlebotomists who will come to your house. You have to pay, of course, but maybe it's worth it?

Ask if there's any small district hospitals you could go to instead, even if further they may be quieter and have free parking, we also have a walk in centre that offers this service 8am-8pm here
