Had a deep tooth clean at the dentist today which finished up with him sort of “pressure washing” my teeth with gritty stuff. As I rinsed I felt like my throat was swollen and the sensation hasn’t gone away 6 hours later. My ears feel sort of blocked too. It improved with ibuprofen but felt weird again when the painkiller wore off. I was absolutely fine when I went in and have never had a problem with adverse reaction to dental work before, but I had never had that pressure wash cleaning before. Dentist checked my mouth and throat and said it looked fine but I think from looking in the mirror that my uvula is a bit swollen.
Has anyone else had this? I don’t know whether I should go back to the dentist now, am worried it’s some sort of allergy. However it hasn’t got worse and I can breathe perfectly well.
