While I’m starting to get a bit run down, I look after my diet very carefully. I have coeliac disease and I am totally compliant. (It’s definitely not gluten!) I am traveling and have brought my own food and my own car fridge. Everything is bought and prepared fresh, daily by me. What fresh hell is this??? (BTW - I live in Australia and every loo seat and door handle, etc is thoroughly wiped with antibacterial wipes - I touch NOTHING! And I practically antibac gel up to my armpits as well.)

Could it be temporary lactose intolerance? It’s common after diahorrea.

Nope... no lactose. I don’t eat dairy or soy. I eat a very boring, low inflammation diet.

Hmm. Could it be a virus? Are you sure

Anti-bac gel doesn't protect from viruses OP - it protects from bacteria. If you're obsessively anti-bac-ing yourself and everything you touch you're actually removing healthy bacteria from your skin and body and making yourself more exposed to viruses!

Diarrhoea for a week or so isn't unusual with a virus (or food poisoning). Have you not touched a door handle, a chair, a table, shaken hands with someone in the past couple of weeks?

I think I will go to the doctor on Tuesday when I get home and get it tested. I am beginning to suspect it may be a parasite. This is ridiculous. Looks like every truck stop for 2000km is going to be graced with my presence again on the way home again. Ew! (Have to say though... despite the amount of traffic at this time of year - it’s outstandingly busy - they were all sparklingly clean. I’m very impressed!!!)

A week or so isn't that unusual for a virus

Go to the GP with a sample when you get home.
