Vasculitis - so much pain

I have recently been diagnosed with a form of Vasculitis which has affected my kidneys. I regularly see a nephrologist due to having protein and blood in my urine, though that is improving.

My issue is I am in so much pain down both my flanks and all I've my back. I am now on opiate painkillers and paracetamol, but after a few weeks of taking one opiate, it doesn't seem to have any effect any more so I get changed.

My GP thinks IGA nephrology but my consultant is reluctant to do a biopsy as blood and protein is reducing. I don't really care what it is, I just want some idea of how to manage the pain.

Is there anything I should be asking my consultant next week, as at the moment it seems like life is just one long series of investigations, and other than blood pressure medication, there's no treatment suggested Sad

Hi Hastings. My partner has Vasculitis and was diagnosed about 5 years ago.
He sees his consultant every 4 months and has been stable since the initial illness period.
Everyone seems to react/cope differently so the Dr can never say for certain how things will pan out!
I hope your pain gets better,my DP had a lot of joint pain rather than back/flank.
