Hi,
I came on the contraceptive pill in March and had my first period on the 6th May. It wasn't as bad as feared and lasted 5 days instead of the 7 or 8 days it used to last before going on the pill.
I have endometriosis so was taking 3 packs in a row as treatment and rarely had a period during my year on it.
I was horrified to discover I'd started my period again last night only 14 days since the start of the last one. At least that explains the horrendous bloating and feeling emotional and irritable!
But I'm baffled as to why this is happening. I'm 41, have had 3 children, not sexually aCroce since February and definitely not pregnant.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I did used to have a 2 week cycle why I was 12/13 for a few months but but it sorted itself out.
I'm awaiting blood results as have symptoms of hypothyroidism but not yet diagnosed. Might be relevant maybe....

Sorry are you on the pill or not- your opening sentence is not clear.

It's probably just your body settling down then.

I've just come on here searching for something like this. I've got endometriosis too. I've come off the mini pill just over s month ago. It was working for a couple of years but the last 9 months I've been getting the horrendous periods back. I bleed for 14days of a month. I've had spotting for a week already, and yesterday I came on properly. I use a mooncup, and in the last 7 hours I've lost 120ml of blood. I'm exhausted.
I've just had enough of this. I wish they'd take it all away. It's shit having this isn't it? :(

Lady it's awful. I'd make an appointment with your GP as that's a periods worth of blood in 7hrs.
I'm going to the GP this morning as just come home from the school run to find I've leaked through my tampon and pantry liner. Big clots. Tampon only been in situ for 90 mins. I feel yuck and the pains down my legs and in my bum are awful. Never had that happen in my life.

Yes you need to go to the GP. I've been back and forth loads, my next gynaecologist appt is in a couple of weeks. This is "normal" blood loss for me unfortunately. It sucks. Sad

My GP could t help much as the drugs she could prescribe to lessen the flow and ease the pain would exacerbate my gastritis. She said it could be my body readjusting after the pill and might settle down by itself, it might be my new cycle in which case they need to intervene because I'll become anaemic very quickly bleeding 2 weeks out of every 4 or it could just be the endometriosis. She's said to keep an eye on things and go back if it doesn't settle this month. If my next one arrives on a 14 day cycle she'll "do something" which is either refer to gynae or go back on the pill.

Yeah I get anaemia on and off. I've started taking my ferrous fumarate tablets again today because I know when I'm getting anaemic, I get really teary, and get brain fuzz. Where I literally have no idea what I was doing. It's happened several times when cooking dinner this evening. I can't multitask at all today.
I've just eaten a great big fat juicy sirloin steak, extra rare. GP recommended it a few weeks ago.
I hope you manage to get yourself sorted. It's horrible.
