Hi I have 2 ovarian cysts. the one on the rhs is a dermoid cyst and dont know what the once on the left is. The right one is about 14cm or something like that and after looking at all options, my consultant says that he will need to operate by doing abdominal surgery (vertical cut) to get the cyst out and whilst doing that he will have a look to see whats going on with the left as the CT scan was inconclusive. I know that the right ovary will be taken out, however depending on the extent of the grown of the cysts on the left it may also be taken out. I have asked for fertility preservation. I have 2 lovely children however I am petrified of the onset of post surgery menopause as not mentally ready for it. I am 39 eyes of age.
My periods are have been all over the place recently but bleeding mostly. I've had biopsy's of the cervix and lining of the womb and all ok. Bloods are also fine.
My worry is the post surgery menopause. Has anyone been through something similar and of so what advise can they give me? should I be thinking HRT straight away or is there a herbal options? All advised is much appreciated. TIA x
