painful bruises appearing from nowhere

the past few weeks i have noticed that I am getting more and more bruises appearing from apparently nowhere on my arms, legs and even on my chest and stomach. I have had 2 appear on my arm today and they are really painful. They are about the size of a 50p piece. If I had bumped myself then I would have known cos they are in places that it really would have hurt if i had clacked them. What the hell could it be??

It's prob best to go to the gp and get blood tests. Ds1 had to have a whole range of blood tests to try to find out why he was brusing so easily and we were told that there are endless possible causes. Try not to worry too much, but get an appointment.

Anangelwithin I think you need to go to gp for a general healthcheck/bloodtests..this and the tiredness could be something like iron levels or something more serious

You do need an appointment but try not to worry. Tiredness and bruising could be just anaemia. Get off that internet and book doc's appt!

anangelwithin there is no point scaring yourself when it might just be anemia...phone the drs

Maybe ring NHS direct, they can advise you if waiting until next week is ok?
