First orgasm after childbirth - Wet myself? :(

Hello all,

I gave birth to my son almost 4 weeks ago, it was forceps delivery and I had an episiotomy, 2nd degree tear and then also a labial tear. I have been pretty meticulous with the wounds and they've healed really well, they're still tender but healed. I've not had any incontinence issues so far - sneezing, coughing, laughing is fine.

Last night I let DH go down on me for the first time since having the baby, it was pleasurable but started to get sore so we stopped and I used my hand to finish. As I orgasmed I felt warm wet flow out of me. It was totally involuntary and I'd say it was about 1/2 cups worth. I'm not sure but I think I wet myself? I am really embarrassed. Is this a common thing? Should I see a doctor?

Also, since this I poked my finger inside to have a feel of everything and it kind of feels like the entrance to my vagina is blocked by something soft and bulgy, you can poke your finger in but you have to squeeze past this bulgy tissue - does that make sense? Is this normal, or should I be worried?

Thank you in advance - worried sad

I would get a doctors appointment it could be a prolapse, please don't be embarrassed and leave it, have you been doing any pelvic floor exercises?
Congratulations on your new baby, it sounds like you had a bit of an ordeal, I had forceps with my first and remember the discomfort well.

I had a baby 4 weeks ago, 3rd degree tear which is healing well and have almost exactly what you describe. Soft and bulgy blockage at bottom of vagina. I think it is a prolapse and have been totally freaking out about it. I plan to go to the GP this week. No sex for me anytime soon.
It feels to me like a slipped tampon when I walk around. Can you feel anything?

This is why 6 week wait post baby and appointment with the GP exists!

Sounds like a prolapse , don't leave it unchecked , my great aunt apparently had one and she had to keep poking it back up there .

As for the orgasm , are you sure it wasn't a female ejection ? , that happened to me once and I honestly felt like I wet myself but 10 mins later I went had had a big wee Blushlol tmi .
Congrats on the new baby xx

female ejection

That is wee, you wet yourself.

OP, sorry but it does sound like you have a prolapse, go to the GP to get that sorted as you shouldn’t be suffering with wetting yourself. This is perfectly normal after childbirth so don’t be too embarrassed.

It could be a prolapse and that some urine has become stuck... not sure how to explain... but aside from going to get it checked out which I agree you should do... you could try after going to the toilet standing up and moving about a bit, into a slightly different position, and then trying to wee again just to make sure that your bladder has properly emptied.
It may well not be a prolapse because at this stage my vagina certainly wasnt back to normal and everything was sort of heavy and bulging still. Took a while for it to go back to normal.
The doctor will hopefully be able to shed some light on all this at your check up!

Thanks for all the responses.

Is the 6 week check up an automatic thing? I think I need to book something.

@acquiescence - Yes, sometimes mine feels like that too, but not always. If I scoot forward on the sofa because I'm holding baby it feels like something is there. Have you had any incontinence issues?

@bbearshh

I haven’t had any incontinece issues, I am still wearing pads for the last bit of bleeding so I’m not completely sure.

You may need to book your 6 weeks check- just call your GP and they will advise.

I went to the GP today and she said I have a slight prolapse and that it should Improve with exercises. I really hope so.

Please get an appt ASAP. Don't wait 6 week appt. Also some 0laces (my surgery where I work) do a combined appt at 8 weeks instead of 6 weeks. So you have u check up and then straight after baby has 1st set of immunisations.

Congrats on baby x
