Reoccurring spot on baby

Hi everyone, was wondering if anyone knew what this was before I go to the drs and waste their time, it looks like a bite but this is the 7th time it’s come up in exactly the same spot! And it disappears as quickly as it reappears. I check everything before I put clothes on him, nothing has been changed or have we gone anywhere in particular when it’s happened, it happens randomly no other signs of anything no other spots or rash, temp, it’s really strange, if it was a bite it wouldn’t just be one single spot in exactly the same place every time, just want to know if anyone else has experienced this? Thank you.

It looks like a hive, which is often a sign of an allergic reaction.

Given that he's only getting the one and its always in the same place, i wonder whether that bit of skin is coming into contact with a button or popper or buckle that might be irritating it. I get hives like that from buttons containing nickel.

Hi, thank you for the reply, I thought the same but the nappy does not go up as far as that and no contact with with anything as he always has a vest on, not changed washing powder since he was born, and always check his clothing before to make sure there’s nothing on there like fluff of hair or something. He’s 5 months now and the first one was on New Year’s Day :(

He's not trying to scratch it or anything, is he? DS2 had eczema patches when he was a baby that looked similar. He even used to try to scratch them in his sleep, poor boy. It passed eventually, I can't recall what cream I used on it, and it never returned.

Thanks for your reply. No it doesn’t bother him or anything, it’s gone by the next time I change his nappy so a couple of hours it lasts for, no dry patches or scratching 😕 i might just pop in and see the health visitor on Tuesday
