Private gaenocologist recommendations

Hi just wondered if anyone had any experience of finding a private gaenocologist in the Manchester area. I am struggling with pelvic prolapse symptoms and have been stuck waiting months for an NHS referral whilst things just get worse! So am considering going private. Does anyone have any recommendations for consultatants that are specialist in this area? Not really got a clue how to go about finding the right one! Any help or pointers anyone can give will be gratefully received, thankyou!!

I can recommend Mr Rowlands on the Wirral, not too far from Manchester. He is one of the top gynae's in the UK and from personal experience is amazing. After years and years of problems and seeing so many different gynae's I eventually found him and couldn't believe the difference in how he listened and helped me - he is so nice and so good at what he does. I have had 2 ops with him now and cannot fault him and more to the point wouldn't see anybody else.

If you prefer to see someone in Manchester Dr Pickersgill also has a great reputation. I have seen him too and although he was good and knew his stuff I much preferred Mr Rowlands.

Thanks so much for this, really didn't have a clue where to start! Was your surgery for a similar issue, if you don't mind me asking? And how did you go about arranging an initial consultation?

I have seen Mr Clayton at the Alexandra hospital in Cheadle, he was absolutely lovely and I would recommend him without a doubt.

I am just about to see him for similar yes. He did my hysterectomy last year too. To Arrange to see him ask your gp to write a referral letter to him or just ring the hospital he works privately for and make an appointment. Good luck, hope you get sorted soon.
