I am sat on the sofa with my leg elevated watching Father Brown; don't judge, I am feeling grotty.
Since mid-December I have had swelling around my inner ankle bone on my right foot. I also have psoriasis on my feet and ankles and has been getting worse, bleeding and very sore. I have been waking with cramp in my calf.
I have seen my GP today and she diagnosed cellulitis from an infection in the skin affected by psoriasis. (I have scratched it I must admit 😔)Ii have antibiotic, moisturiser and steroid cream
She advised me to keep my leg elevated.

Problem 1, how do I get comfortable with my leg up on the coffee table and a pile of cushions?
It's so uncomfortable and makes my knee and back ache.

Problem 2, any tips for healing my psoriatic skin, especially in this cold weather?

At least I can catch up on some TV, though having just been traumatised by a few episodes of Hard Sun I have turned to G K Chesterton's amateur detective. WinkBlushGrin

Veteran of 3 ankle surgeries here - have spent far too much time with one leg up! For problem 1) can you lie lengthways on the sofa? (Furniture re-arrangement May be needed so you can see the TV!) You need support under your whole leg - a pile of pillows graduating in height - higher at foot end - is best, and if you can recline further so your back is flatter it should be easier on your back. Also if you can get your foot higher than your heart it will help with swelling. Or go to bed! A rolled towel and or hot water butter under your lower back could help too. A shaped firm cushion that is sloped at the body end might help (sorry cannot for the life of me think what this is called!) bit I got mine on line from a mobility aids place.

Alternative position: lie with bad leg on inside of sofa and heave it onto the back of the sofa.

Sorry can't help with no.2. Get well soon!

I am sorry to hear you have been through surgery etc.
I am glad to say the lumpy swollen area has subsided a little, already, leaving it all looking bruised and with a definite mark around it. I can feel my ankle bone for the first time in ages.
I am doing lots of resting and then have half an hour putting the washing, making some food and so on. I was planning to do some ironing while watching more intellectually stimulating tv, i.e. Father Brown 😉

Recently I watched the TV adaptation of D L Sayers' Lord Peter and Harriet Vane novels, with Harriet Walters. I found them on YouTube, they are still as fabulous.

On and thanks for the tips lying comfortably, I tried the pile of cushions with sloping pillow, it is great.
I was a little shocked and worried the other day, got myself into a pickle and DW came to sort me out and moved small table with my books and crochet project nearer to hand, plumped up my cushions etc, so I am feeling better.
