Urgh - UTI?

Think i might be brewing a UTI. Wee smells a bit odd. Spots of blood on wiping. No pain and no stinging.

What can I do to fend this off, stop it getting worse and stop me from needing an out of hours GP appointment???

Get some cystitis sachets off the shelf, drink plenty of water and no tea / coffee / alcohol / fizzy drinks.

Wee as soon as you feel the need, do a "double wee" last thing before bed (wee then go back 5 mins later), no baths, no creams down below, drink like a fish. Give it a couple days and it will probably clear.

If you're pregnant go see ooh GP as very small risk it can trigger labour so you'd need antibiotics.

I think if there is blood you should see the GP anyway, probably.

Blood with no pain or burning is unusual, I would think that points towards kidneys. Get checked out by a GP if lots of fluids doesn't sort you out by Monday.

Take some brufen too, it can reduce swelling if there is any. I'm just getting rid of the same, was horrible and felt really iffy for two of the days.
The chemist sachets don't work by the way, but they don't do any harm either. For me, at least it means I have three glasses of water a day, otherwise I forget.

Personally, I only have blood and no pain once the infection spreads to my kidneys (also gives me bad lower back pain) so prob worth getting checked out.

Thanks all - ended up at the out of hours GP on Saturday night and got a prescription for antibiotics. Feeling a lot better.

Glad you are feeling better, UTIs are horrible especially at Christmas.
