Have I got irritable bladder syndrome?

Since having a Mirena fitted in June, I've had awful problems on and off with pain in my bladder. It's a dull ache, heavy along my pelvis and feels like I've been punched...with intermittent sharp pain. Each and every time, I've not got a UTI and tests are clear (my coil is in the right place etc) but I've been doubled over again today with it and feel pretty miserable with it. The pain goes with low dose co-codamol and never lasts more than a few days. This is my 3rd bad attack of it since June.
I will see my GP about a referral but reading online today, I'm wondering if it is irritable bladder syndrome and wonder if anyone else has similar??

It's probably the Mirena. I had /have painful bladder syndrome which at its worst is frequency, pain and all made worse by certain foods and drinks, which I avoid.

I find that progestogens tend to make it worse some of the time which is why I declined the Mirena as part of my HRT.

Up to you but my money's on the Mirena.

Maybe have it removed?

Thanks for replying, I was also starting to wonder if there was a connection between the two........ just not sure if i can go back to the horrendous periods, at 47 I was hoping they'd be showing some sign of stopping!
