hi i had a trans-abdominal ultrasound yesterday as been having pelvic pain and irregular periods. At least was listed for trans-ab pelvic scan...she did the first part of the scan and said ovaries etc looked ok then scanned a bit lower down and said have you been passing any clots. Said I had and she said she wanted to look more closely at the endometrium and was I happy with having an internal scan which I could either come back for or have done there and then as she had time to do this as her list wasn't busy. I said happy to proceed for internal scan straight away however at the end of that she did not say oh looks fine she just said she will send a report to my GP. So now thinking/wondering if she has spotted something or am I over-reading it?

I’ve had several pelvic scans in recent months and each with a different sonographer. Some tell you everything they are looking at while they do the scan, some give a brief summary at the end and others say nothing other than you’ll hear from your gp next week. It really just depends on the individual sonographer.

Try not to worry Flowers

I had one last week and she told me at the end that she would send a full report to my GP. I was sick with worry as she wouldn't give me anymore details. Eventually got my results which were all completely normal Hmm

When I had mine she told me at the end that a report would be sent to my GP and that I would hear back in a week-but that everything looked normal to her!
