Is it possible to fracture your coccyx with no idea how and no trauma?

I was a bit uncomfortable sitting last night. Today I went to a training thing I was ok walking there but sitting I was in agony and can;t sit back at all so I have been leaning forward all day. Afterwards I had quite a walk and it was really hurting even to walk, I came home and laid down, better then, now I've got up I can;t sit and it hurts standing and walking. I can lean right forward but if I try to lean back its really painful and makes me feel sick. But I haven;t done anything to it, not banged myself or fallen. Really weird.

Ooh - fractured coccyx - rolls up sleeves...

I fractured mine a year ago. Fell off a horse onto solid ground - poor horse just stumbled and we were out on a hack. I landed almost flat on my back, checked for signs of damage then got back on horse and rode back to stables.

When I got home I was in pain and a bit worried as back pain was halfway up back. Went to A&E for Xray as had essentially dropped from height onto back on concrete. Spine was fine except for coccyx was fractured and displaced to the right.

It did hurt. I could still sit down because I fractured it landing almost flat, rather than in an upright position. But I was in pain for a couple of weeks and then a bit uncomfortable. I was very lucky really as some people do it and struggle for months.

My coccyx still points to the right - I can feel it if I palpate it. It will always veer that way now. Doesn't stop me still riding though!

owww that sounds painful. Definitely no trauma so I know in my mind it can't be broken. It's still sore this morning but not quite as bad, luckily I'm at work today and there is no sitting down involved there. I'm sure iot's not an infection as it is relieved by lying down. Anyway I guess it will have to just have to improve as my mum came round last night and when I told her said shall I look, er no. She suggested DH look, er no. Then she asked me to get someone at work to look, er no. And while we are on the subject I';m not that keen for the dr to look either.
