history - dd has had a couh for 3 days mainly at night, then no cough at night for last 3 days but occasionally in the day. saturday night had high temp (39 degree) told to medicate all day sunday, today only medicaed twice, nuofen and calpol (cos temp more stable)

the thing is: last two nights temp dropping to 35. NHD direct and Out of hours doc, say put on mor clothes, did his last night and temp ose after about 4 hours, tonight still waiting for it to rise (been 3 hours)

she has on pjs vest, 2,5 tog grow bag, socks, and layered with 3 blankes on top (advice from NHS direct), still tem is 35. her room temp is 20 (cooler than mine but fine). she is well in her self duirng the day and not showing any sins of being cold except her face is not warm, but not cold either, her body sems warm. tested thermomoeters and seem fine whats up?

anyone heard of low temp and what could cause it?

my baby had a low temp a few weeks back...i did keep him warrmer but it carried on a couple of days until he was over the virus
it is odd - doctor said to me some babies do this when poorly
continue with calpol and fluids and food if she wants and lets hope she is better tomorrow x

but 35 isn't that low .. its within the realm of normal

I wouldn't worry personally and if she seems fine I'd just stop taking her temperature

fine the day times, no longer on calpol. confused about what is and isn't a normal temp now. NHS direct say over 36 is normal???

how did you take the temperature? For example an armpit reading will give you a temperature of about a degree less then an under the tongue temperture (core temperature).

How old is your dd?

If she's not ill anymore, then I wouldn't take her temperature anymore

Yes armpit temp is usually about 0.5 - 1.0 deg lower than core.
