It's dreadful.

Hours to drop off. Sometimes I doze at between 9 and 10 but then wake up and this gives me a second wind, so to speak.

Unfailingly, I wake at 6 Hmm

Any ideas or suggestions? I'm permanently exhausted and it's affecting everything.

Try getting into a routine - no phones/screens an hour before bed, no work emails, warm bath, lavender oil, a warm drink (not coffee), then clear your mind and settle with a book for a read? If you are lying down reading then you are at least resting. Keep up with the routine, same bedtime each night and same up time, even at weekends.

Try getting some form of aerobic exercise during the day, even if it's just a 30min walk.

I've found as I get older I am not needing so much sleep so maybe that's affecting you?

Also - my GP said that if you wake up in the night, get up - don't lie there stressing about not sleeping. I used to get up and read and then when my brain calmed down, I would go back to bed. Seemed to work.

Good luck!
