Missed a period, not pregnant, do I need to see my GP? Anyone else had this?

I've got a lot of stress going on at the moment which is probably why. LMP 31/01/17, have had sex a whole once since then at the very end of Jan and used a condom, pee stick is negative so I'm very sure that's not it!

How long does it need to be AWOL for before I see a GP? Can they even do anything? Do I need to be worried in case it's anything more sinister?

To be honest I'm mostly relieved that I'm not miraculously pregnant but I don't want to just ignore it if I should be seeing a doctor! Any advice appreciated

Oh yes sorry, that would be 31st December 16

In my experience the 3 most likely reasons are

1. Pregnancy
   

2 perimenopause
3 Thyroid problems.

Unlikely to be anything sinister.

Stress used to bring my periods on early and they stopped only due to1 & 3, and the actual menopause when I was 52.

i've skipped before, it can be bought on by stress.

If you skip a second, i'd get it checked!

My friend had this and was perimenopausal. Maybe give it a few more weeks and/or see if you become regular over next few months

How old are you? Since late 30s any bit of stress would send my cycle all over the place - previous month was missed/late by 3 weeks, but this month was back to the regular 4 weeks.
I had been more stressed than normal.

I'm only 27, but I used to have irregular cycles and my mum did too - she's just told me she once went 10 weeks for no apprentice reason and not pregnant! I guess it could just be stress?

I had 2 delayed periods last year and it was either due to stress or my antidepressant medication. They turned up eventually.

After 3 months I went to the GP; I was in pain, and was convinced something was wrong. They ran so many tests and had internal scans, poked and prodded and came up with nothing. The specialist wrote to my GP to say that getting pregnant would be the best solution! Turns out I was under loads of stress and hadn't realised it. 6 months later, my boss at work changed and so did all the extra I'd taken on without realising: queue my periods coming back.

I'd say, if you miss another go get it checked. But do be prepared for them to find that nothing is wrong. In the meantime critically evaluate life and see if you are over doing it.

This was me exactly, when I was your age and trying to conceive I missed two periods. At that stage they called it secondary amnorrhea, and I was sent to see a consultant. They tested for pregnancy and a variety of other things, they don't know what caused it and they decided to put me on fertility drugs to bring back my periods. I was defo not pregnant.

Bizzarely the day I was to collect my prescription I did a pregnancy test, I just suddenly thought, I'm pregnant, genuinely that's true. I was actually pregnant and obviously didn't get the drugs. Instead the consultant who saw me for the amnorrhea then led me through my pregnancy, I think as they had concerns over dating the baby. In late pregnancy being over due and them being out by a few days on the date can be life threatening to both mother and child i.e. If I'd been more pregnant than they thought, so I was induced on my due date.

Just go to see your GP. They will run some blood tests, check for pregnancy etc and don't be concerned.
