Sat here , streaming cold, sore throat, losing voice, hacking cough.....again!

laryngitis and then a cold over Xmas, then another stinking cold middle of january, now this !!

am eating lots more fruit and veg and less caffeine, sleeping enough ( ish!)

what else can i do , to stop getting ill all the time ???

did buy a bottle of multi vitamin tonic from the chemist in the new year, then dropped it on the front step and it smashed, so suggestions for things not in glass bottles appreciated !!

TIA x

I often think that any cold I had made me feel worse than I was precisely because I couldn't take to my bed and wallow!!

Staying calm and unstressed is the best thing.

I read a free book about the common cold once - given away by Kleenex. Apparently, although you can easily catch colds when someone coughs or sneezes near you, you can minimise the risk by breathing through your mouth for a few seconds.

Most important of all is that you are most likely to catch a cold from virus deposited on hard surfaces such as door handles. The way this happens is that you rub your eyes and the virus infects you via your tear ducts. The cold virus can survive on a hard surface for up to 5 weeks.

Ever since I read that, if I have an itchy eye I wash my hands before I rub it or if that isn't possible I use the back of my hand.

Only had one cold in the last 2 years.
