Any other menopausal women with really vile wind?!

One of the worst things that I've noticed since reaching menopause is the effects of particular foods on my digestion.
Currently I can't eat any beans, any cruciferous vegetable, eggs, preserved apricots, Indian spices or onions. I get large amounts of absolutely vile wind.
I never had this problem when younger. If I avoided baked beans I was fine. I also find myself having more trouble preventing a fart and have accidentally farted twice in public recently! It is so embarrassing and I really miss some of the foods!
Is this common and has anyone found a solution other than avoiding those foods?

Not just me then....

I haven't actually noticed it being food related - just copious amounts of noxious wind no matter what I eat. In fact, been off food past few weeks because of a cold and the relentless foul wind machine has been still as strong.

Sounds like a food intolerance. A lot of people can't eat the things you mentioned without getting bloated with gas. Not sure if it has a connection to menopause though? Could just be coincidental timing and you are linking the two... Maybe read up on the 'low fodmap' diet if you are interested? Hope you feel less windy soon! Smile

I always get this at the time of my period. If you Google it it's a definite thing. Mine is 100% hormone related so could be a similar thing?

Thanks. I'll have a look at both ideas :)

I have this! Initially I thought it was funny, but it's getting ridiculous. It's definitely not related to any food.
