hey, has anyone ever used homeopathy to treat anxiety, feeling down and loss of confidence ? Iam due to return to work after having 3rd baby and feel really panic stricken !! Have some bad and good days but can feel quite moody and am lacking patience. A friend recommend i tried homeopathy, the hv thinks may need ads to slow my brain down. If anyone has any experience would appreciate any advice.

I used Bach flower therapy 'Rescue Remdy' when I had an eye op and it really calmed me down. Went through a stage of feeling exhausted last year and looked at the Bach range and took 'Olive' which I feel really helped. I gave up caffeine at this point as I thought by doing so I would sleep when tired iykwim. The Bach range is extensive and explains what each tincture is for. HTH.

with regards to homeopathy it's maybe worth seeing a professional for a consultation - you'll have to pay but they'll look at all aspects of your health and work out what works best for you personally

otherwise you're just guessing

There are lots of different homeopathic remedies that can be used for stress and anxiety and the best bet really is to see a homeopathic practitioner. However....having said that:

Aconite is good for general anxiety and argent nit for fear, anxiety or "nervous tummy" relating to an upcoming event (ie going back to work). Rescue Remedy can be good too.

Make sure the homoeopath only gives you one dose of a single remedy - it's the sign of a good 'un! Good luck

Not necessarily TooTicky - there's lots of ways of treating homeoapthically. You're right - sometimes for chronic conditions you might get only 1-3 high potency doses. But sometimes this might be followed up by a lower potency for "acute" attacks. Just saying don't let it put you off if you don't get just one dose!

I've just had it drummed into me very firmly about the single dose/single remedy.

Single dose/single remedy is classical homeopathy as practiced by Hahhnemann himself 300 years ago. It's what I believe in, but non-classical homeopaths often give mixed remedies and multiple doses, and it doesn't make them worse, just different. And even classical homeopaths (and Hahhnemann) give multiple doses , especially if using LM's (powders dissolved in water) or give different remedies as the disease picture evolves in response to cure or different aggravations of the vital force.

You are very unlikely to get side effects. one of our first rules is to cure gently. You may occasionally see a very short term aggravation of your symptoms before a cure, or often see old symptoms (such as skin complaints) come back for a while - this just means the remedy is working, but it cures deeper issues (such as mental disturbances) first. Hope you get good results.

(Please tell me to go away -I'm meant to be compiling a comparison chart for acute cough remedies at the moment)

Ive been to the homeopath and she gave me sepia. One tablet i took there then another at bedtime and then one in the morning. I felt on a high for about 6 hrs then knackered but all in all do feel better. Got sore ears and neck now quite strange almost like a cold in them as like a head cold. She was a really good listener and i think it really helped to get everything of my chest also felt like wasnt being judged and told her things that would not admit to friends and family. Iam going back in a month not sure how lomg can sustain these visits as back at work, money blah blah blah, but over all found it worthwhile.
