So.. this week I had to have a filling replaced. The dentist did an Xray and said the decay was under the filling and on the nerve so I needed to have a root canal done. My tooth hadn't been painful at all so I was surprised when he said I needed it done, but I trusted him and it was done.
It's now 4 days later and my tooth is agony. I can't eat that side of my mouth still and if I touch it / close my mouth or put pressure on my tooth i want to cry, it's like a shock running though me.
How long does this pain go on for or should I try and get an emergency appointment today ? Paracetamol and ibuprofen just aren't touching the pain. I've had a root canal years ago but can't remember this pain previously..
Anyone can advise or suggest what can help ease it?
I'm so annoyed it could have been done after Christmas as it wasn't painful at all and I'd have been able to eat my Christmas dinner pain free
