Ovarian Cyst and blood in my urine...worried about my health :-(

As title.

Basically after a year or so of longer periods and pelvic/ abdominal pain I was finally sent for an ultrasound which has revealed a 2cm Cyst on my left ovary.

I went to the Drs last week to discuss the findings of my ultrasound and she basicwlly said 'yeh you've got a 2cm cyst on your left ovary, we'll scan you again in 6 weeks time and keep an eye on it.'

Now I have a constant dull (almost period pain like) ache in my pelvic/ abdomen area. which gets worse after sex and sometimes sex can be uncomfortable now. I'm bleeding for 3 weeks out of every 4 and therefore we hardly have sex at the moment. And basicslly, she told me there's nothing they can do.

She asked me to do a urine test to rule out a bladder infection as I said I think in weeing more than usual. Drs rang yesterday and said I need to do another one in 2 weeks time as there was a small amount of blood in it. Now, I had bloody discharge that day and the next day came properly on my period....could that maybe be why? I'm really worried.

Today, I was going about my day when all of a sudden I got a sharp, stinging pain in the left side of my pelvis/ groin. It's been there all day and is now getting worse. I'm scared it's my cyst rupturing or something.

My life just isn't the same anymore. I don't want to be on my period for 3 week so out of every 4, I don't want to constantly walk around with pelvic/ abdominal pain and having sex hurt etc.

Should I ask for a second opinion or stamp my feet to be seen again at the hospital sooner?

I have recently been diagnosed with a 4cm cyst and like you get pain. Apparently they are very common and most often go as soon as they come. Mine is a simple cyst so there not concerned about it - if they were worried at all I believe they'd take action. But go back to your GP if the pain is worsening. I've got to be rescanned in a month or so
