Looking for advice and I know the best person would be the gp but getting my partner there with the hours he works is a nightmare ...
A couple of days ago my partner came up with this rash/bites it seems to have spread a little, was very itchy initially but not too bad now, before the rash came Up he was really itchy on his lower belly and back of his neck but it never came to anything any ideas? I'm worried it might be contagious or if it's something that has bit him it's living in my house?!

Where is it on his body

If it is in patches in a line around his tummy and back it could be shingles

To me, from the photos it looks like shingles. Is it painful?

It's about four inches above his hip and the smaller patch is more towards his back, not painful was very itchy for a couple of days but since the spot are there the itching isn't too bad now he says it's a little painful when his tshirt rubs on it?

Both patches on the same side of the body? Sounds like shingles, in which case Drs and get a weeks worth of antivirals. I had shingles in march this year after being unwell, run down and stressed for months.

Good luck. Calamine lotion helps too.
Shingles is infectious and can pass on chicken pox to those who haven't had it. Nhs website is pretty good for information.
