yes, there is a chance, but not a big one, sorry!

It depends a LOT on where the break is (fracture is just the posh word for break, and has no bearing on the severity of the damage whatsoever).

It can often be a knee-jerk reaction by casualty doctors to put a cast on as soon as they see a break. It often isn't necessary. When he goes back on Wednesday, it will most likely be to a fracture clinic, and he will see an orthopaedic surgeon. If the surgeon thinks the cast is unnecessary, it will come off

fingers crossed then, they have said its only a very small fracture, hosptial didnt even give him any painkillers and he's been in agony. This is the 1st proper birthday party he's ever had (he's never wanted one) just want everything to go ok for him.

It depends on the severity of the break. I had a closed fracture of the fibula (the slim leg bone) and I was in a cast for 4 weeks and they refused to take it off a few days early so I ended up going to a ball (I was at uni) with a ruddy great cast under my gorgeous velvet dress - I was devasted!
