Argh can;t get coil removed

quite amusing really have decided after 3 years that I really want my mirena coil removed due to various issues. Anyway phoned docs and they are not removing them at present as the doctor that removes them is on mat leave. Got to go to sexual health clinic, been trying to phone them for an hour and can;t get through. So looks like I'm stuck with the bloody thing.
I am quite amused by the whole thing but on the other hand I want it out, I want my libido back. Reading other threads it would appear that getting it removed is considerably more of a problem than getting it put in.

I found it was the opposite scenario, quick & easy to remove.
I had to go to the sexual health clinic for removal too, as my (coil trained) GP had left the practice.
In our area you can't prebook for the SHC, just turn up + first come/first served etc.
I had been warned if I wanted coil removing, then to make sure I arrived at the beginning of the session. Think due to time constraints, the SHC doctor can only remove/place 1/2 coils per session.
Hope this helps.

Can't the nurse remove it?

I pulled mine out by accident when pissed. I just pulled the strings. My previous one was removed by the practice nurse, who also just pulled the strings.
Can you reach the strings?

I pulled mine out myself. They don't use a special tool at the doctors. They just pull on the strings.
