I haven't had a period since before Xmas .
Poas numerous times and it's negative.
Have been to the docs and they have booked me in for a scan but I'm still waiting for a date....4 weeks and counting.

No other problems/symptoms.

Slightly overweight but that's not new and doctor isn't concerned about that.

Any ideas of things I can look into to try and point my gp in the right direction? Pcos was mentioned....is this likely?
I'm starting to fret a bit as it's very out for me.

I'm 28 if that's relevant Smile

Polycystic ovaries may well be the underlying cause here of the lack of periods.

Have you had any blood tests done to check your LH and FSH levels and for possible problems with the thyroid gland?. Blood tests should be done as well.

What sort of scan are they going to do; an internal ultrasound could be done to see what your ovaries look like. Polycystic ovaries can appear larger than normal size (normal sized ovaries are about the size of a walnut) and have a "ring of pearls" appearance to them.

Sorry should have mentioned....have had blood tests, all came back normal.

I think I'm waiting for a internal ultrasound....she didn't say as much but from memory of a early pregnancy scan then I'm guessing it's easier to see.

What blood tests were done and on which days?.

Blood tests for PCOS should be done on specific days during the month. As your periods are currently non existent such tests can be done according to calendar days. You need a day 2 test to compare your LH level against that of FSH.
