Question about anxiety and propranolol.

A week ago I was prescribed 10mg of propranolol 4 times a day for anxiety which was causing palpitations.
Last week I felt fantastic, like me again.

Last night I got very little sleep and today, despite taking the tablets, I still feel awful - not so much anxiety wise, but tight chest feelings off and on all day (with no other symptoms so the GP is happy that it's anxiety related).

Does that sound right that tiredness can override the propranolol?
Or should I be worried that there really is something wrong? (Which probably sounds like anxiety talking :o).

The tight chest feeling, can that just be a part of feeling fatigued? I also have low iron and low vit d levels which are being treated (on day 9 now). Is it normal to still have bad days once I've started feeling better?

I had what you experienced for the first week or so and then it all passed as I got used to them. I don't get it at all now. The tight chest was a pain in the arse though but it passes.

It is, because no matter how much I rationalise it, it's still worrying!

I had those feelings before for months, last week was amazing, but today it's back, but without the constant anxiety. Hopefully a good noght's sleep will sort it out!

I am desperate to get back on these.

My anxiety is so bad I can't get up without having a full blown panic attack this evening.

I am waiting for my GP to OK my request or I have to wait two weeks to get an actual appointment but I'm not sure I can last one more day like this.

Bad days are common yes. You could be having a bad day and a good nights sleep is all you need. With anxiety it is common you will have days where it's not so good, even on medication and a week is still very early days.

I hope the GP gets back to you soon, it's a horrible feeling Flowers

Had a good night's sleep last night and feel fine today.
My GP rang earlier to say that they're now on repeat prescription (hooray!) and some stronger ones for the weekend or for bad days.

I am glad you feel better today.

GP was fine with the request and I have just took one.

Wasn't sure what time to take them? It's 40mg once a day but it doesn't say when to take them. I plan to take one in the morning as well so I can get through work and then I guess I will see what works better for me. I can't remember what time I used to take them.

When I go see him I will ask for slow release ones I think. Im not sure 40mg will stay in my system for 24 hours.

Pleased you've got them now.

I had a slight relapse this afternoon after dd and ds1 had a fight, needed some silence to make it pass.
On propranolol though it's weird, because I'll get the anxious physical stuff, but without the doomy head (if that makes sense).

Slow release sounds good.
