Heart Problems?

Woke up yesterday morning with stabbing pain around the heart area and nowhere else. Had pins and needles in both arms though likely slept on one. Was hot and clammy and had red blotches on both arms. Lasted all of about 15 minutes really.

Since then the odd twinge in the same area. I read that pain around the heart is usually not heart related.

Does this sound serious?

Sounds weird. Doesn't sound especially cardiac (wrong type of pain) but not worth taking a chance with. Gp? Do not call 111 unless you want an ambulance...

Doesn't cardiac pain go across the entire chest? Only reason I suspect it is it is the only thing there that could hurt.

Heart issues run in my family and tend to surface at this premature age (I'm mid 30s).

It's not the only thing there that can hurt!

Anyway it is probably worth getting checked out by your GP in view of your family history.

Get yourself checked out. Cardiac issues in women can present differently to men. Almost certainly not cardiac, but no harm in getting an ECG. Blood tests can also indicate cardiac issues but I think they need to be done close to the episode to show up problems.

I hope not. Been getting random pins and needles for months now too - dp says bad circulation as I'm not very active!
