Hello. I had a biosy yesterday of the skin on my breast and have now got four stitches. It's currently covered but the doctor said to remove that this morning, wash with soap and water (twice a day) and put the cream she's given me on it. But then I am just to leave it open and put my bra on

I'm hesitant about this as the wound is exactly where the seams of my bras fall and they aren't soft delicate material - i have massive breasts and my bras are suitably sturdy

I understand not putting a plastic plaster on as it'll be sweaty and horrid, but could I put a patch of cotton between the wound and my bra as a buffer? Was thinking of ripping up an old t shirt. Is this a terrible idea?

Sounds reasonable. You don't want it catching

Sounds fine to me. If they are somewhere where they will rub then I would keep them covered just to stop them from catching. The non stick dressings (melonin, or own brand) are slightly padded and breathable and what I usually cover stitches with. It might be worth getting a soft all one piece stretchy bra for this week just for comfort. If they are where the bra wire would usually be you don't want that pressing on them, it will be painful, especially a day or two afte as the skin will be bruised

Thanks all

Can't remember the name of the cream and it's at home right now

Popped into a pharmacy and they suggested taping a cotton wool pad over it so will try that! Smile
