What's wrong with my toe?

Help! My little toe has been swollen, red & painful for about 6 months now. Some days it's so painful just brushing it against something is excruciating! I'm a dog walker so very active and on my feet 5-8 hours per day. I make sure to wear supportive footwear and switch them up a few times a week.

Any idea what this could be? Should I go to the docs? I have a number of big health issues that I'm used to seeing my GP about whereas this feels too minor to waste a doctor's time over...

Could it be a Chilblain? They can get red and swollen, sometimes itchy too.

I used to have chilblains all year round, had some meds for if they got too bad but permanent swollen little toes.

if you don't want to go to doctors you could try your local pharmacist first, they might be able to advise you
