Any ideas what's wrong with me? - ulcer? stomach cancer? overactive imagination?

hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this set of symptoms.
I have had a slightly strange feeling in lower pelvis for some time - months probably, but it comes and goes. A bit like a dragging kind of period pain but not as strong - and I'm 52, no periods for over a year.

went to GP a month or so ago, she found a tender area, not ovary apparently, said possibly diverticulitis. Sent me for a scan which is due in 2 weeks now.

Over Christmas its got worse and I have a vague nauseous feeling a lot of the time and if I drink alcohol I feel quite sick after 2 or 3 glasses and can wake in the night feeling very sick. Normally I drink a fair amount without any effects and my stomach is definitely unusually sensitive.

It was a bit hard over christmas to work out what was happening as we had a lot of food, different food, rich food, drinks etc but now my diet is more back to normal and my stomach is still super sensitive and I feel sick. Does IBS make you feel sick? - don't think its that though

any thoughts?

I'm no expert but I certainly wouldn't say stomach cancer. Stomach cancer symptoms are much higher up- just below and between your rib cage and are usually feeling full very quickly and indigestion-type symptoms. Sounds like your symptoms are more intestinal/bowel related?

It could be anything - don't google! You'll worry yourself. We were really worried my dad had bowel cancer but it's turned out to be an unusual infection.

I've had IBS and it did make me sick on occasion.

Thanks for that. I know Google is not my friend. Just a bit worried because the feeling sick is pretty constant now. Don't want to do an Earl of Grantham Smile!

Yes angel puffs, it probably is intestinal. Bowels seem okay, apologies if TMI, but the ache is low down. It's just the nausea that makes it feel connected with my stomach but the upper part feels normal

IBS can definitely cause nausea. But certainly worth getting checked out.
