Arthritis and sex?

Just after some advice really. I've got psoriatic arthritis, similar to rheumatoid and I'm doing really well at the minute. On anti tnf injections which has helped loads and I feel 'normal'. However I still have a few issues with my lower back, not horrendous but it still aches. Anyway, whenever me and dh have sex I'm always in pain the next morning. It actually wakes me up and is really sore. Does anyone else get this? I'm going to mention it at the hospital in a few weeks but it seems to be getting worse. No pain during sex it's just the next day.

Sorry if this is personal but what position do you use for sex? My dsis is only 46 and suffers from arthritis and she finds certain positions worse than others.

No it's fine, we don't really have just one we do different ones. I did look online this morning and it does look like some may be worse than others for causing pain. I'm just confused that I feel mostly fine then this flares it up? Maybe my back isn't as ok as I thought?

My dsis finds spooning is the best position. She has less pain that way. Definitely mention it at your next appointment though as they may be able to give you some good advice.

I have RA and find some positions are worse than others. I've had it for 18yrs now and I guess I've kind of adapted but TTC has been tough. I'm on anti-TNF (when not pregnant) and I think it's fab but that also means you sometimes forget that you have limits that others don't. You may need to work out what works for you, sometimes after sex I get terrible hip pain so have to forfeit snuggling DH for a hot water bottle.

Thanks for the replies. Yea I think cos I feel 'normal' I forget that my body still does react differently to others. My rheumy keeps saying that my lower back is due to posture but I really don't think it is?! It gets so sore and it does feel like joint pain rather than muscle pain. I'll mention it in a few wks at hospital.
