For about the last year or so, I've been having various minor symptoms that I have mostly put down to my age and approaching menopause. I'm 44.

In no particular order, I now have:

  • random periods. Usually on time, but I never know if it's going to be a flood or a 12 day long dribble. They were previously pretty consistent from teens.
  • bleeding between periods, just when wiping, not enough to need sanpro

-bleeding after sex, just sometimes. This has never happened before.
  • discomfort in the side of my breast and in my armpit. On and off, seemingly random. Dismissed as trauma from new bra, but stopped wearing bra and discomfort continued. Can't feel any lumps or anything.
  • a dull pain in my pelvis beside my left hip. Probably only 1/10 on pain, but still pain that was never there before.
  • pain in the same part of my pelvis during sex (this is new)
  • when i poke the area in my pelvis, I can feel something a bit harder than the rest of the squidgy stuff in there

I went to the doc today and she said she couldn't deal with all that in 10 mins, so I am to go back tomorrow for a double appointment.

I know it could be a hundred different things from a cyst/fibroids/twisted tube/adhesions/STI (extremely unlikely!)/tumour/menopause etc etc etc. I dismissed it all as menopausal until I started getting pain. It's the pain that's prompted me to go to the doc. I've also done a pg test and it was negative and had a normal smear test earlier in the year. The nurse said it all looked healthy at that time.

I know that nobody on here can tell me what's wrong and I am seeing the doc tomorrow, but I am starting to feel a little bit stressed about it.

Tell me it will be fine!

It will be fine... you're doing the right thing getting checked out.

Did the Dr not cover anything today? 20mins still isn't that long so u might need to briefly list issues then focus on 1 to go into more detail e.g. boob

Good luck

Yes, she checked my breast today and poked my belly. She didn't really say much and will do an internal tomorrow apparently.

I have recently had a large ovarian cyst removed and some of your symptoms sound similar to mine. I also found it difficult to hold on for the loo with a full bladder.

Nashville yes, cyst has crossed my mind. Could the doc tell by feeling or was it diagnosed with ultrasound?

No probs re holding for the loo though. But, I do have an absolutely massive bladder. Seriously, I think it can hold about a litre! Shock

Well, doc thinks pain is muscular but has referred me for a scan anyway.

There is a bit of cervical erosion which explains the bleeding.

Panic over (I think!)

Sorry for delay in replying. Yes it could be felt. In fact the gynaecologist got hold of it on the outside of my body and moved it around! That said it was 18cm X 17cm X 11cm so plenty to grab onto. Oddly I had cervical erosion a few years before that as well ..... Good luck at the scan.
