This is scaring me just writing this. I am dental phobic. Can't go in for even a basic examination. Never had my teeth cleaned/scaled/polished - or whatever it is they do. Only ever had treatment under sedation (wisdom extraction).
I've tried hypnotherapy - didn't make one jot of difference. Tried big doses of diazepam/temazepam/lorazepam - they get me in the door of the clinic, but I can't cope with an examination, aside from a 20 second a visual one.
So. It's pretty bad. Luckily, my teeth aren't - so far. I last went about ten years ago and not needed to go since. I've noticed that I am getting a bit of plaque (is that the same as tartar?) around the bottom of some of my teeth where they meet the gum. Nothing terrible, but I expect it isn't good to have it there.
Onto my question - is there any thing I can take, apply etc to dissolve the plaque - that won't harm my teeth obviously? I can take pain, bad taste etc, just not dentists .
TIA
