Am I unreasonably anxious re bowel problems?

I would love an outside opinion as DH is feeling increasingly worried and at times so am I about strange bowel things but our GP has been very reassuring and relaxed over months and is up to date on all this.
He felt ok to wait and see if it continued when I first saw him which seemed fine but when it did booked a colorectal clinic to investigate but this has taken 4 months or so as first one was cancelled without warning to either of us: he was reassuring again saying he was comfortable with that and that in mid thirties it's unlikely there's a problem.
I've told him in embarrassing detail about
Occasional rectal bleeding and mucous over a year
Diarrhoea / v thin poos/ lots of abdominal pain when bad
Increasingly frequent feeling of sickness and losing appetite
Very tender stomach all over when this is going on eg tonight.

I'm being seen within 2 weeks as near the end of my wait now so this is pointless but feel so uncomfortable, cold and shivery tonight, pooed about 15 times when normally every day or two or three and it's the second time in a fortnight . And above all is the tiredness, overwhelming and I'm normally asleep v early eg 9 and up at 8.20 but wake exhausted.

I'm sure I'm being irrational but just because I look very healthy and have children I feel any abnormal tiredness is dismissed ( I find even standing up an effort).

Sorry for pouring this out and under a temporary name!

Have you been tested for helicopters? Those little twirly bastards need ruling out www.healthline.com/health/helicobacter-pylori#Overview1

I've suffered which very much you describe for nearly 6 years. It does get better somewhat and you learn to live with it.. I never got a cause though.

I do take these tablets though for the pain and they are bloody brilliant. I'll look for the name
Of them in the morning as in bed atm.

Don't let your Dr fob you off though.

I had to stop eating anything with egg in for a good few year. It might be worth doing a food diary to see I there's anything that sets it off and give your body a break from that for a bit.

Thank you both, so lovely to get replies even at an hour I'm normally sound asleep! Feeling too cold and shivery and worried how much need to do tomorrow.

I have never heard of helicopters other than flying sort so thank you!

Yes good has made a huge difference but I already know can't eat most grains any more so already really just in meat, veg, fish and GF oats. Plus milk in my tea!

Mumsnet is amazing, really. Thank you for the helicopter idea as sounds very feasible and I'd wondered whether could be giardia or something.
Mainly keen to know it's nothing sinister and to regain some amount of normal energy as used to run miles and now have to avoid walking

Has the GP taken stool and blood samples to check Calprotectin levels (for inflammation) and for Coeliac? I'm no expert but I would think one of the inflammatory bowel conditions like Crohns or colitis would be a definite possibility given blood in stool etc. I would go back to your GP as with those conditions prompt diagnosis is important so that it can be controlled.

Not an expert either but was wondering about the possibility of crohns from your description of symptoms. Hopefully you will get some answers soon and will regain your health and energy. I have had bad ibs flares in the past and know it can be exhausting to experience ongoing bowel symptoms, and also worrying and stressful. Hope you can get some sleep for now

Feel very boosted by your replies and thank you for being so kind. I've been tested for coeliac already (negative) but do react v strongly to wheat as do cousins etc in my family.
I've put Radio 4 comedy on to help me sleep. Thank you lovely people
