Letter from GP. Tell me not to worry!

Diagnosed with Coeliacs back in March. Consultant sent me for blood tests and a Dexa scan. Got letter from consultant just over 2 weeks ago to say results of scan show I have osteoporosis and to see Gp. So I did, GP had a record of this on their system so got a prescription. Thought that was it until next consultant appt in July.

Today got letter from GP ( practice manager) dated yesterday to say to ring surgery to make a telephone appt with regards to a letter they have received from hospital.

So am a bit worried. Was thinking could be the practice catching up with itself and their letter was in relation to the osteo and they don't realise I have been in? Or maybe the blood tests results mean I need some additional meds. Though blood tests were ages ago.

Was thinking maybe not urgent as they didn't phone and they are suggesting a phone appt rather than face to face. Also if really urgent maybe I would be called back to hospital.

I can't do anything about it until Monday and am going on holls then anyway!

Am I worrying over nothing? I need reassurance!

You're right, if it was something very urgent they'd have phoned you rather than sending a letter.
Try not to worry and call them on Monday. Smile

This happened to me, only I was asked to go in and discuss. Turned out this was a standard letter that had been sent out even though I had already discussed the matter with the GP on the phone.

To make things worse, the letter had been delivered by hand, leading me to believe it was urgent or important.

Ok thankyou. I have a feeling that it is in relation to the osteo and hoping they have made an error as have a,ready been in.

Yoûr replies have helped me feel better.

I remember they rang when I had very low iron when pg and needed urgent treatment which suggests a letter not urgent.

Sorry PP that you phase had that call.
