I've had it for a few days now and tried the sachets and drinking loads of water and its still getting worse, i need antibiotics.

Only problem is its Saturday now, what do i do?I don't have a phone (no landline and phone has been broken by toddler) dh is away but back tomorrow evening so whatever i do will have to take toddlers with me.

Do you have a walk in clinic/minor injuries near you? They would be able to prescribe antibiotics for you

Loads of water, plus sodium bicarbonate/baking soda (and flavourings, if you need them, eg, diluting juice.)

If you don't have a local walk in, you need to borrow a neighbour's phone to call NHS Direct or whatever its called now. If you need antibiotics there's a good chance the infection will spread and you will get a kidney infection.

This happened to me recently, you have my absolute sympathy - cystitis is beyond horrible

I think someone more knowledgeable will be along soon, but I think the advice someone gave me was that if you call NHS direct you can describe symptoms over the phone and they may be able to prescribe you antibiotics to be picked up from a local pharmacy

Otherwise, sachets, loads of water, paracetamol

Ring your gp, they will have a recorded message with a number to ring for out of hours. They will ring you back and make you a gp appointment with the out of hours service

I had a kidney infection a few years ago after i left it too long, i should have gone yesterday to the doctors but thought it would be better by now. Sad

There will be a Saturday surgery somewhere. I doubt a pharmacist would prescribe anything potent enough.

ring your surgery and get the recorded message telling you the number for the out of hours procedure.
i live in the sticks but there is somewhere i can go albeit miles away.
before it gets worse. good luck

Ring the surgery/walk in etc. but in the meantime, every hour drink a pint if water, a mug of black coffee and a glass if orange juice with a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda in it.

This was given to me "in the olden days" before walk in centres and late night chemists.

Alternatively, find a pharmacy and buy an over the counter remedy.

When I had a uti,my GP said, along with antibiotics, drink cranberry juice and now I always do that. Lots of it and often. Obviously the subsequent extra visits to the loo can seem to make it worse but it always seems to help me. Make sure you choose one with the highest percentage cranberry you can find. Hope you get treated ASAP.
