Hi - last year I had an endometrial ablation for heavy periods. It seemed successful at first but 8 months later although it has stopped my periods it has caused me more problems - horrendous pain being one of them. The gynae who did it says I'll have to have a hysterectomy! Not something I'd planned as I've already had mastectomy for breast cancer and thought I was done with surgery. I've lost a bit of confidence with the gynae who did it - certainly wasn't given all the facts before and don't feel I'm getting a proper explanation now for what's happened (looks like I'm still having period but blood is unable to escape due to scarring and so backing up causing adenomyosis / endometriosis type problems). I need to get this sorted quickly as will just continue to get worse each month but I don't want to be rushed into surgery with someone I'm no longer confident with - I'd be terrified! Also want to be sure there isn't another option. Does anyone have any gynae consultant / surgeons they would recommend - London / Surrey area. Also I have been advised to take zoladex injections for this until it can be sorted. Anyone have any experience with that? Thanks
