Naughty me-pain in the knee

I was a bit naughty and went for a short run the day my baby boy was six weeks old. Ever since my knees, especially my left, has been really painful. It doesn't feel muscular but feels like I've fallen on my knee and jarred the bone. It's not so bad during the day but when I get up after sitting down in the evening I can barely walk. Any ideas what I can do to help it?!

I had that when I'd managed to get my hip out of alignment. Is he a 'hip-baby'?.

Go to gp for examination firstly.
Are you breast feeding?

Hormones soften your ligaments or something like that, and it carries on for a while after you give birth.

I have knee problems due slight miss-alignment of me hip joints which makes the knee joint rub. It's doing more exercise than you are used to that triggers it, as the knee needs the extra support from good muscles in that area. Going to a physio helps - I would just go straight to one myself rather than wait forever for a doctors referral, but you should go to the doctor first off course.

I discovered mine problem after a day of climbing in the Cairngorms! Weirdly however, my knees were about the only thing that didn't hurt when I was pregnant (and put of five stone!).

And - take it easy! You've just had a baby! Put you feet up (keeping knees unbent should take the strain of them a bit).

I had spd and was on crutches when I was pregnant so I'm obviously producing too much relaxin. Thanks for the advice. In definitely going to the doctors!
