Ulcers on my uvula! Any tips?

Well it's an education as I didn't know what the dangly bit at the back of my throat was called until now... Have been generally run down, one cold after another, and currently taking antibiotics for sinusitis. Have noticed my throat isn't getting any better (the sinus pain is really improving) and now I see I have white ulcer things on the uvula. Googling leads to people unable to eat/swallow/sleep for weeks! My dcs are already taking full advantage of my incapacity to speak loudly...
So, any tips? I can't put bonjela on it as too far too reach, think it would make me gag to poke it with a qtip but you never know.
