Anyone else had LasEK laser eye surgery?

I had this done last Monday and I'm still waiting for my vision to clear completely whilst my eyes are healing.

I know everyone is unique but was just wondering if anyone else had had it done and how they got on, ie time it took to see clearly. At the mo working on the computer is v. difficult so I can only spend a few mins at a time at the pc.

(EK is the treatment where you don't have the flap cut - I won't go into further details in case anyone's squeamish!)

Hope there's someone out there to compare notes with....

Congrats on having it done! Always wanted to but my perscription is too strong for either type of surgery. Know 2 people who had the flap and they could both see clearly straight away, and one who had like you and it was blurry for about a week. Dont you have to go back the next day and then in a week to make sure all ok?

Oh yes, have been in 4 times! You have a 24 hour check and then your contact lenses taken out 4 days later. I've also been in twice more too as I was in a lot of discomfort. (Don't let this put anyone else off it though!) I go back again next Friday and then about 2 months after that. There's lots of aftercare.

You say that your prescription is too strong? Have you had a consultation recently? My surgeon told me that he has operated on people up to -12!

Am -9.5 and -7.5 but also very thin cornea so risky. There is one guy who could do it in london but he charges £4000 per eye! When i win the lottery! Hope yours come good soon.

I recently had the Lasik done and am really pleased with the results. Try the Ultralase forum - its got quite a bit of interesting information - especially about Lasek. From what I've read it takes slightly longer to heal from Lasek... sure all will clear up soon!
