Peri papillary atrophy and photophobia

I have peri papillary atrophy which has worsened after three years of being detected. I am waiting for a hospital referral. Anyone know what this will entail?

Also DS has photophobia. He found it quite difficult have his eyes examined. She said his reactions were quite extreme. He is almost 12 and I wasn't in the exam as I was having my fields tested.

Should I encourage him to wear sunglasses?!

Any advice welcome!

Yes - if it makes him more comfortable.
A hat is also a useful thing to reduce light entering the eyes.
