I sound nuts even writing this, but since I went back on it I have felt like 2 different people, honestly like I have a split personality.

I can be fine and happy one mo and feel really depressed the next. It's starting to stress me out cos it feels weird.

I'm sure i'm not like it when i'm not on the pill.

... can't help .... I was on it for about 20 years and loved it .... it's when I came off it that the problems started ...

sorry ...

I thought that it was low strength ...

Well I first started taking it after I had Dd1 which was 8 and a half years ago. Have been on and off it since in between having 2 more kids.

The first time I noticed it might be making me depressed was after Ds but we were having hpusing probs at the time and so I eventually put it down to that.
Once we moved I stopped taking it to see how I'd feel and I felt better but thought it may be the new house so eventually I went back on it.

IMO though there is a noticable difference in my mood when I am not on it.

Am a bit scared to come off it because I get awful period pains which needs the pill and Ponstan to just get me out of bed.

hmmm. i think i'd try a combination pill rather than a mini pill, though.

i can't use one now b/c of my age + hypertension and heart disease in my family, but if i could, i would.

They suggested the coil when I went about the pain, but am not keen, no particular reason, just not keen.

the coil is progesterin-based, just like Microgynon.

probably not a good idea if Micro causes you trouble.

i've got the non hormonal coil, you could try it, and go back to the pill?

if it doesn't agree with you

A friend of mine had terrible PMS on microgynon, and mood swings like you describe. I thought it was one of the earlier generation of pills that wasn't generally prescribed any more? I used to take Minerette which was fine, and low dosage. Also had the depo injection for years which was FANTASTIC, although I did put on weight. But that's progesterone based.

If it isn't suiting you, you really ought to go back to the doc's to discuss other options.

Hated microgynon - skin crap, mood crap, weight gain. Mercilon & marvelon suited me much better. It's worth a bit of trial & error to find a pill that suits TBH.
