i have the mother of all cold sores at the moment and am neurotic about giving the virus to my ds (11 months), am taking all the normal precautions trying not to spread it to him but my friend said that because i am still bf he is getting my anti bodies and therefore wont be liable to catching it until he stops bf.... is this true?

I think she's wrong - breastmilk does contain antibodies and they help fight infection, but I don't think that you can rely on that being enough to stop him catching your cold sore - or any other infection, for that matter.
