I have anemia being referred for Coeliac testing

but I have no other symptoms that are on the list.
I do have bad stomach pains, I often get reflux/ upset stomach and do vomit but tbh I am stressed. I often feel as if my stomach has just shut down and things don't get digested so I vomit. [sorry]
Should I be asking them to test for something else? It is my iron reserves that are low at 6 [but I donated blood in Dec and everything was normal]
Sorry that is a Confused mix up of symptoms etc
TIA

What type of anaemia is it? If it is pernicious anaemia then yes the two often go together the pernicious anaemia can be caused by being a coeliac (secondary PA) or they can go together primary PA with antibodies to intrinsic factor and antibodies to gluten.
I have primary PA and am a coeliac. So even though I have a gluten free diet I still need B12 injections.

Coeliac disease can cause a huge variety of gut symptoms (including the ones you mention). It also commonly presents with anaemia - sometimes with no gut symptoms at all. It affects your ability to absorb iron from food (and also in absorbing other nutrients needed for blood cell production, like folic acid and B12). It's very common - thought to be about 1 in 100 people - and is straightforward to test for with a fairly accurate blood test (95% accurate) so sensible thing to check if you're anaemic. Further tests would depend on if there is an obvious source of blood loss or not (ie depending on if you have periods or not!).
Hope this helps.

Just make sure you are eating lots of gluten prior to a blood test for coeliac.

Tks U ladies
It is the reserves of Iron are down I donate blood regularly and take a pill to stop my periods cerzettte [Dr rang but I was at work and could not really talk to her so I am not sure about the type of anemia] I have to make an immediate appt with her as I have another blood test for an allergy to meds so she will do the Coeliac one then. I am just eating gluten products at all meals and bread in between I will be the size of a small elephant at this rate but that will be 4 days of loads of gluten.
I was doubtful because anyone I know who has been diagnosed was severely ill and I am not.
Fingers crossed it is not Coeliac as I love cake and pasta and gluten free does not measure up to nice lemon drizzle I hate rice cakes
