Definitely going in the right direction. Hobbled around Sainsburys while DS2 did everything but pay, bless him. Hot water bottle is the best thing. Not sure there is any point going to GP but will see how it is tomorrow.

I get it when I put on a bit of weight.

Any relief?
Sciatica does tend to be a shooting pain I think.

Yes think it probably is sciatica. Took me over an hour to get to standing from lying flat this morning but it is much better now. Hot water bottle against it is wonderful.

Could it be sciatica? It sounds like it. I developed it while pregnant as dd was laying on my sciatic nerve! It disappeared when she was born but rears it's ugly head every now and again. It's like a burning pain in my lower back and buttocks, sometimes shooting down the leg too. Laying on my back is the worst position when I have it.

That's funny, I have been doing the ball thing with the dog's ball and she is not impressed. Will try standing up as lying on the floor means it is agony to get up after. I'm never ill and am impatient. Must be awful having pain like this constantly. Thanks for replying.

Is it muscular pain? I'm working on massage with my back at the moment.
(This translates as standing with my back to the wall, wedging a tennis ball at butt height and rubbing like a demented bear scratching on a tree!)
GP may suggest anti inflammatory drugs.
Hot bath? Hot water bottle? Tiger balm?

Any idea if this will sort itself out with painkillers and gentle movement? Never had this before and not sure what caused it. Normally walking around all day at work but have been sitting on hotel dining chairs for long periods recently so think it is that. Had it for a week then seemed better but after a day standing in a freezing warehouse it is now much worse. Would a doctor recommend anything else?
