It's been going round up here (central Scotland) - I know three local parents have had it. Not DCs though - I guess because they are immunised.

hmm I don't know if I am immunised or not, I am a nurse , may have been innoculated at some time.
I do know I am immune to measles/rubella and chicken pox but mumps ??

So 2 immunised girls have now got the mumps?
I got the mumps when I was 16, not having been innoculated against it as a young child. But my sister didn't get it off me. It was said it was more dangerous for boys, back then, as could make them infertile. I wonder if i could get it again in my much older years? My parents didn't catch it off me either.
I had no symptoms of feeling ill, just a swollen gland behind my ear and couldn't open my mouth wide enoughto stuff with food as hurt when i tried.

ps
I was signed off by DR as being contagious, but no-one in family got it.

I had it a couple of years ago. Also immunised as a child (do they wear off). No-one caught it off me though as I locked myself in my bedroom because I'd read that it can make men infertile and was living at home at the time and didn't want to be the reason that my brother couldn't have dc in the future

My brother no longer lived at home, and parents in the mid 50s. Was a long time ago but don't think I locked myself in my room. I was signed off for 2 weeks, but don't know where I got it from
