Going back to work after being off sick

I'm due back at work on Thursday after being off for the last week with a chest infection and bad asthma. Trouble is, my asthma is still bothering me, especially at night. I am waking up 4 or 5 times because I am breathless. So as a result I am dog tired during the day.
I know my GP will want me to stay off work but I feel a bit funny about it.
What to do. Go back> Risk an asthma attack? Or hope I make it through and get back into the swing of things sooner?

You are not yet well. If your GP advises you to stay off, then stay off.
I'm not asthmatic but my mum is, and work is not worth risking an asthma attack for.

I agree if it is still bad dont go in.Sounds like it still isnt in control.
